This can be an embarrassing issue as often sweaty feet can become 'smelly feet'. The bacteria that produce the smell thrive in the sweaty environment and therefore when you control the sweat you control the smell.
It is a normal process for us as we grow through teenage years to have more of a sweaty foot than other times however, for some this can be persistent and a real problem.
Tips
- Good general hygiene is essential. Daily washing the feet and drying well especially in between the toes.
- Changing shoes regularly really helps and change socks daily. Generally socks should allow air flow, i.e cotton or bamboo are ideal.
- Use of surgical spirits will help dry the skin up. Initially daily apply the surgical spirits with cotton wool to the bottom of the foot and in between toes. Allow the solution to dry and as it does it pulls excess moisture out of the skin.
- Don't use foot cream for this condition unless the foot cream is for the condition.
