Always choose the shoe for the use
- Of course there are general shoes that can be worn for more than one thing, however it is easy to wear inappropriate footwear and not realise it until it is too late.
- Also sometimes we need particular knowledge of our own feet to get the most appropriate footwear for us. We may have a specific issue like perhaps a bunion or a flat foot that requires us to be more selective when choosing shoes.
- As a general note slippers are meant to be worn at the end of the day and not all day. Please bear this in mind if you do find you are spending a far amount of time indoors. Also no shoes at all if you are on your feet a lot this is often not a good thing.
- Most people feet do need support and control which they get from a shoe / trainer. And in general a lace up is better as it holds onto the foot more and doesn't allow the foot to slip forward.
If you have problems with footwear and getting shoes to fit and help you may benefit from a
video consultation appointment from our Podiatrist to give specific help and advice.
